Happy Memorial Day!

Mario and I had some days off this weekend and it was great! In retrospect we realized we spent a lot of it catching up on stuff, but it still was so nice to have the time to do those things... Laundry, a trip to Trader Joe's (did you know the dark chocolate sea salt caramels are seasonal only?? waahhh!), a swing by Target, a visit to The Wharf to buy pet food, pit stop at the UPS box... Yes I sent some work related emails but tried to keep it to a minimum.

We took the dogs to the beach for a walk, which was fun. Bogey got bit on the ass by a fiesty little maltese. Reminded me of Snuffy! ;-)

This morning I went on a trail ride at the ranch with some friends/clients. Jordan is doing awesome with the cows! He saw so many today and could not have been a better behaved boy. He even drank a little water from their trough at one point with them laying all around it. And later 2 of the Quarter Horses spooked when a calf leapt to its feet as we walked by, and Jordan did not even react! It was lovely foggy and cool when we left and for most of the 2 1/2 hour ride, but sunny and warm when we got back - perfect for him to have a nice shower and dry off during his post-ride lunch.

Mario took apart the famous (infamous?) fountain yet again. Turns out its been leaking because the tub had a big crack in it, presumably from the pressure of the rocks. He removed the tub completely, enlarged the width of the water pool area and made it deeper. He mentioned the future addition of some koi. . . Right now it's nicely shaped mud with chicken wire, and he is going to concrete it in. Always a work in progress! I will update with pictures soon.

In the interest of maintaining honesty in my blog, I thought I would let our readers (alllllll of you, you know there are hundreds... maybe thousands??) know that last week Mario was arrested. No joke, unfortunately, I had to bail him out to the tune of $1,000 for a bench warrant on an unpaid traffic violation - driving on a suspended license, a ticket from 5 years ago. He goes to court for it tomorrow. Look for him picking up garbage on a freeway near you... ;-p

Mario definitely should tell about it.. there was a crazy person next to him and the stuff he was saying was... well, crazy! But fascinating too, to me anyway. Notice that there is only one blogger these days? I will try to get on him about it. He's working on the fountain right now, so maybe that will inspire him to write?
