Closing out the year

Tuesday night Mario and I went to Stephanie and Nick's new house for dinner and drinks. Stephanie's mom Anne was there visiting from NJ, and our other friends Leticia and Alex were also there. Unfortunately I did not even think to take a single picture. :( Regardless, it was really nice. Stephanie made homemade pizza stone pizzas and a great salad! We all brought bottles of wine to share, and then we had chocolate cake with fudge sauce and coffee ice creammmmmh. Leticia was in a holding pattern waiting on test results from recent scans, but found out today that a suspicious spot on her lung had increased significantly in size in the last month. Back in November it wasn't even large enough to biopsy. :( They are now going to biopsy it to confirm it is small cell cancer (she's already been through surgery, 6 rounds of chemo and radiation for the areas they had found in her cervix) and she's scheduled to start chemo again in January. I am so sad for her, so disappointed... she deserves to be free from cancer, from treatments, from being sick. She's younger than I am! I wanted 2010 to be a fresh start for her like it is for so many others. Instead I will be praying for her, thinking positive thoughts, holding peace and health in my heart for her!

Mario and I did our last trims of the year this morning. We cleaned the house, and I'm doing laundry (lots of loads to do!) Tonight he's going to make pizza, and we are going to eat some chocolate and cookies from the holidays, drink wine and watch funny year end shows on tv, and more than likely not make it to midnight. Mario's got a 7am t-time with Randy tomorrow morning... I will post our new year's resolutions and plans tomorrow... for now, I am signing off... wishing you all a very safe and joyful New Year's Eve!
