Here's a picture of our backyard. The "bench" is made of concrete blocks that were cemented in and then slurried by Mario. He added the turquoise glass tiles (leftovers from one of our bathrooms), put in rounded edges, sprayed the corners to match the texture of the rest, and then painted it the same color as the house from leftover paint. He's going to add some paint details and a mango color around the tiles, but here's where it is so far. It's made to be a sitting area for the table and it works nice and comfortably. The pugs use it to hop up on and get a new view. ;) When it's truly done I'll update with a new picture and some close ups of his finishing touches.
One of my clients just had a bunch of (absolutely gorgeous) yard work done, and offered Mario leftover rocks. Rocks have been a little obsession of his ever since he started his fountain. (see Mario's post from the beginning of the blog!) He never has enough, and can never seem to access the river rocks he really wants... So this was just a moment of joy for him! (and hard work I'm afraid!!) He finished placing the rocks under the orange tree, and placed them stategically throughout the landscaping in the front yard, and lined the oleander on the side of our driveway with them... I'll try to get pictures of that too. Here's what I have...

so nicah..
what I would do if I had a yard! I've kept myself content with a window box and illegal fire escape garden.
