It's been rainin'

due to Blogger being glitchy, my photos won't go in the order I tell them to...
Raindrops from my office window (the Touareg windshield)
Amazing break in the rain 2 days ago - absolutely everything was still soaked and dripping wet, and droplets of water were blowing in the breeze, but the sky was beautiful and blue for about 10 minutes... the sun made the water gold...

More of the short rain break

Double rainbow in Ventura on the way home from the post office. By the time we got home you could see the entire arch from our front step.

The horses paddock around the time of Storm #2. It's wet, but the ground is actually firm - not deep and goopy

Raindrops on the horse's pepper tree
(I was particularly proud of this shot)
It has been raining cats and dogs! After many years of sub-average rainfall we are making up for it big time... much needed, but not really all in one week?? We've had wind, rain, lightning, thunder, hail and Ventura even had a tornado today. It was literally a couple of blocks from our house!!!
We've trimmed as much as is possible with the weather, trimming where there is adequate shelter and rescheduling where there isn't. Yesterday we trimmed one mare under a tree which started off as sufficient shelter for the light rain... but it quickly turned to a total downpour and then loud claps of thunder and visible bolts of lightning. We finished her up in record time and head to our next stop, receiving a call on the way that it had just started hailing. The next pony was trimmed in the owner's ranch office!
My own horses are doing well. Starting to get bored with the weather, but their paddock is holding up nicely. It's going to be awhile before the arena dries out enough to ride in, but some of the trails and roads will be ok for riding in a couple of days. However I won't have time to ride for a little while yet with trimming scheduling. I think I have a light schedule in early Feb.
My laptop is back, upgraded and running well... unless the Blogger glitch is a laptop glitch! I did lose some stuff in the crash, but not too bad all things considered.
