My friend Jennifer and a friend of hers named Donna came up yesterday for a Memorial Day weekend trail ride at Aliso. The weather was really nice - quite warm and sunny, but a cool breeze and especially nice in the shade. The timing on the plan got messed up when Jennifer's horses would not get in the trailer, so it pushed things back quite a bit. However we still sat down in the shade at a picnic table for sandwiches, chips, strawberries and wine before heading out with my friend Sue from the ranch. :)

Due to Donna's mare having some issues, we changed our plan about 1/3 into the ride and did a couple of nice loops instead of the bigger loop originally scheduled. Still, it was a beautiful late afternoon and it was really nice to be out exploring with friends. Jennifer said she would come up again and I want to take her on the view type trails... After coming back we had a cold Newcastle while the horses rested before calling it a night. :-) Have I mentioned how much I love days off?? I started playing the lottery, so I can have LOTS of days off.
